Conservation Alliance Thanks Congresswoman Lois Capps

Posted Aug 27, 2008 by The Conservation System Alliance

Saturday July 19 saw Kevin Mack of The Wilderness Society and Denise Ryan of National Wildlife Federation on the foggy coast of central California for the dedication of the newest addition to the National Landscape Conservation System, Piedras Blancas.

Piedras Blancas Historic Light Station Outstanding Natural Area sits on a point where grey whales pass and thousands and sea birds, elephant seals and other marine mammals congregate.

Kevin and Denise presented to the congresswoman for the area, Lois Capps, a thank you gift of a framed photo of the adjacent California Coastal National Monument as a token of the Alliance’s appreciation for her support for the Conservation System and the special places in her district.
